2. Hosting and server log files
We host this website on our own server. When you visit it, your browser transmits technically necessary data that the server stores in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, the referrer and your browser and operating system identifiers. This processing serves the secure and stable operation of the website and is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted or anonymised after a short period unless they are needed to investigate a specific case of misuse.
3. Fonts
The fonts used (JetBrains Mono, IBM Plex Sans) are served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other third parties is established in the process.
4. Appointment booking via Calendly
On the contact page we embed the booking widget of Calendly (Calendly LLC, 271 17th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30363, USA). The widget only loads once you reach the contact section. When it loads, your browser establishes a connection to Calendly, transmitting your IP address and technical browser data. If you book an appointment, Calendly processes the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, preferred time) on our behalf so that we can hold the call.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in simple scheduling as well as the initiation and performance of a contractual relationship (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR). This involves a data transfer to the USA, based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. For details see Calendly's privacy policy.
5. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process your details only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them as soon as they are no longer needed and no retention obligations apply.
6. No analytics, no advertising, no cookies
We do not use any analytics, tracking or advertising services on this website. The website itself does not set cookies. The language choice is part of the page address (/de or /en) and requires no storage on your device.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Data Protection Commissioner of Lower Saxony.
8. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies. The German version is legally binding.
